Raymond, Maine (December 15, 2015) – Tall Tower Capital, LLC, whose portfolio of leased and owned tall-tower assets serves the broadcast and telecommunications industries across the United States, has received Dielectric’s most advanced high-power broadband FM antenna solution. The DCRU12 D50 PT155 system will be installed in the Miami, Florida market.

Dielectric Vice President/General Manager Keith Pelletier described the DCRU as “leading-edge antenna technology that allows the broadcaster with multiple signals in a given market or a vertical real estate company to put in a broadband system with the appropriate safety margins, but without the significant costs of a broadband panel design.”

Offered in both top- and side-mount configurations, the DCRU is an ideal main or auxiliary broadband solution. Mr. Pelletier said, “The DCRU is part of the extended DCRM series, which has been manufactured by our group of experts for many years, and has an outstanding track record.” The “U” series antenna has a power rating of 40 kW per bay, and is available in arrays up to 12 bays. It includes a pressurized tap point and 4-inch balun specially designed to handle the high powers and voltages inherent in combined multi-station operation. And its broadband quadrupole design provides excellent horizontal and vertical polarization circularity and equal H/V ratio ideal for mobile reception. Optional electric deicers and radomes are available, and beam tilt and null fill are available in arrays of 6 bays or more.

The top-mount DCRU antenna delivered to Tall Tower is a 12-bay, ½-wave-spaced, omnidirectional system optimized for 91–108 MHz, and functional across the entire 88–108 MHz FM band. Designed for an input power capability of 120 kW average, it includes a corporate feed system, transmission line and four-channel combiner to facilitate future expansion.

“The DCRU and the manifold-combining technology produced by Dielectric offer our customers a solution that is both economical and easy to install,” said Mr. Pelletier. He added “The technology offering is something that raises the bar and should be considered when doing an economic analysis.”
